Description
Colour woodblock print, oban diptych. The kabuki actor (right sheet) Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Takeda Katsuyori, standing with his sword beneath a flowering cherry tree, looking left; and (left sheet) Ichikawa Danjuro VIII again as Shirasuga Rokuro, posing on one knee with a spear under arm, fighting with an enemy soldier; in the play 'Hana no yuki Takeda no kachidoki', performed at the Nakamura-za from the 3rd month of 1850 (Kaei 3).
