Colour woodblock print. Scene from Act X of Chushingura, now led by Oboshi Yuranosuke, Enya Hangan's former retainers arrive at the house of the merchant Amakayawa Gihei disguised as policemen and carrying a box filled with armaments.

- Curator's comments
- Amakawaya Gihei had supplied the Loyal Retainers with weapons for their vendetta. Oboshi Yuranosuke and the retainers want to test his loyalty, so they disguise themselves as policemen, arrive at Gihei's house with a box containing the weapons and demand that Gihei reveal what it contains or they will kill his infant son. Instead he stands on top of the box and refuses to open it. The retainers are satisfied that he is loyal to their cause.
