The actors are Ichikawa Danjuro II as a demon king and Sadojima Chogoro as Soga Juro. Plays on the medieval story of the revenge of the Soga Brothers were frequently performed at New Year. Juro is shown making an offering at a shrine. The print is signed 'The artist Nishimura Magosaburo'.
