Plate 3 from a series of 16 engravings of Qianlong's campaign against the Miao; the capture of a Miao position by the Chinese in 1795; in a mountainous landscape with trees, Chinese troops, some firing guns, ambush a settlement enclosed by walls and fencing, fires burning; the inhabitants within flee while other Miao, chased by Chinese infantry, try to enter; other Chinese soldiers attack the enemy with swords and lances.
