- Curator's comments
Found in in relic deposits 'Box 2', in an unnumbered large white tray with blue trim now designated 'A', together with 1880.4101. For details, see 1880.4101.a-b.
E. Errington: The tray seems to contain a mix of finds predominantly attributable to Passani Stupa 'tumulus' 2 and Hadda Stupas 4 and 10. These three beads come closest to fitting Masson's description of 'burnt coral beads' from the deposits of BImaran Stupas 2 and 4 and Passani Stupa 'tumulus' 2 (Uncat. MSS, Bundle 1b, ff.1-2; MSS Eur. E161/VII, ff.1-2, Wilson 1841, pp.71, 75). The presence of the malachite winged bead 1880.4101.a from Passani 2 in the same tray suggests that the group of beads 1880.4102 are from the same site.
