Watercolour painting on paper of Vāmana, one of the incarnations of Viṣṇu. The painting shows Vāmana as a dwarf, having water poured over his hands by the King Bali, who stands on a step with a female behind him. Vāmana holds a wooden umbrella over his head with his right hand. He wears wooden sandals and a dhoti and shawl. Liquid is being poured into his bowl by Bali who wears a yellow dhoti and shawl and has a half shaven head. He stands in front of a building with an entrance with a textile cover. Behind Vāmana stands a smaller figure – who raises his hand above his head. In the far distance of the painting is shown a body of water with a far shore and trees. The painting is surrounded by a black border.
