Wooden Cased Mantel Clock with Quarter-Chime Plywood case veneered in oak ? with round topped central section flanked by two lower side extensions in the Art-Deco style. Silvered-metal dial with an outer minute track and hours 1-12. Three whinding holes in the lower part. Blued-steel spade-pattern hour and minute hands. At 3 o'clock a chime-silent lever. Spring-driven, eight day movement with going barrels, anchor escapement and pendulum control. Westminster quarter-chiming and hour striking on five rod gongs mounted on a block in the back of the case. On the chime barrel block a 'strike only' lever. Also in the back of thece is a metal clamp for the chrome-plated pendulum bob and the brass winding key. The latter engraved on the handel with the 'Garrard' trade mark.
