Clasp part .a before conservation treatment. Field of view: 30 by 22 mm. Note variable colour between worn areas (base alloy which is dark grey), recesses (silvery surface), and yellow translucent accretion. Copper alloy belt clasp in two leaf-shaped parts with repoussé decoration of a bird surrounded by floral wreath. Hook and eye fastening, hidden beneath a central cast lozenge-shaped plaque with applied beading, form which hangs a double chain. Two vertical bars at rear for attachment of fabric belt. The white surface is probably plating.
