Large bowl, with inward curving everted rim, glazed ring foot, glazed base with large circular recess in centre, four spur marks, concentric cobalt blue rings around recess on base. Stonepaste fabric, white slip, Underglazed cobalt blue on interior and foot, transparent colourless glaze on interior, transparent coblalt blue glaze on exterior, lustre overglaze. Decoration on interior centre, this consists of stylized pine tree after chinese model growing next to stream with arched bridges and vegetation on either side, lustre grasses and blue plants below tree and bridges, lustre chain band around this scene, cavetto decorated with six wide panels containing large central leaf with lustre highlights and six narrow panels of vertical leaf and tendril design, interior rim decorated with eight sets of small buildings and fruits(?) and lustre peonies and leaves. Exterior walls decorated with two streams with grass growing on either side, large iris plant, pheasant and a flying bird, poppies and fir tree and two cypresses, repeated twice but not identical. Rim decorated with band of chevrin pattern.
