Large oval lidded basket, made of coiled pine-root, birch bark and birch wood. Woven pine-root sides with herringbone rim, set below the top edge to allow for the lid. The sides decorated with a pattern of horizontal coils and vertical bands created by weaving the strips over two rods at a time instead of one. The base of birch bark. The lid made of birch bark with birch wood slats for strength on the interior, the sides of woven pine-root with herringbone rim. Original maker's label on base with maker's name and dimensions of basket.
