One-stringed fiddle with a globular gourd body pierced longitudinally by wooden rod which forms the neck of the instrument. Gourd is covered with a reptile skin membrane secured by tapering cane pins. String is made of elephant ? hair, bound at upper end with twisted leather cord. Small wood bridge placed under string at top of gourd. Two metal bands around top of wooden neck. Twisted cotton cord used as carrying strap. Leaf-shaped gourd plectrum atached to neck with twisted cotton string. Substantial damage to gourd resonator at one side. Bow (b) made of slightly arched split cane with animal hair bound together at ends with twisted cotton cord.
