Description
Basin; soft-paste porcelain; exterior moulded with various shell forms and glazed and ornamented with groups of applied shells moulded and coloured after nature, and with branch of coral; interior of basin crazed and with traces of gilding also found on edge of one shell on exterior; hairline crack on exterior. Ewer; soft-paste porcelain; baroque form, surface moulded to resemble shells and glazed; handle in shape of coral branch continued down the lower part of the ewer and around its rockwork base, which, like the body, is ornamented with applied shells, moulded and coloured after nature; underside of base, made separately, is hollow and glazed; interior of lip, part of body and moulding on handle all gilt; unmarked; fire-crack on handle and part of body.
