Red figured pottery hydria depicting Dionysos on the right, painted white and seated in a chair facing left, in his left hand he holds a thyrsos and in his right hand he holds out a white taenia ending in beads, before him, to the front, is Ariadne, with her flesh painted white, holding a taenia in her right hand and with her left hand raised with a gesture of refusal, on the left is a youthful warrior facing towards the right, with a wreath and a string of beads over his right shoulder, a spear in his right hand and his left hand raised to his mouth, in front of him hangs a yellow aryballos; underneath each handle is a female head with a close embroidered cap turned towards the design; marked with a wave pattern on the lip, wave and tongue pattern on the neck, below the design a pattern of maeander and crosses and palmettes on the shoulder and back; white and yellow accessories; coarse style and rather worn.
