Statue of Chares. Seated over life-sized marble statue. The head, both hands, the finials of the arm-rests and both top-corners of the back of the throne are missing. The hair falls in narrow undulating tresses. Broad bands of maeander pattern decorate the sleeves of the chiton. The sculptor is relatively naturalistic. The powerful legs project through the mantle. An inscription is carved on the right leg of the chair.
