Astrolabe; gilt-brass; a) mater, outermost ring, I-XII, I-XII; next scale 0-360 degrees; throne contains magnetic compass; rete with 13 star-pointers; womb, quadratum nauticum; inscriptions; four plates; II-III: almucantars every 5 degrees, azimuths every 10 degrees, twilight line; lines of unequal hours of night and Houses of Heaven; IV.i: Horizontale catholicum; IV.ii: ring with signs of zodiac and degrees, ring with calendar of months and days; equinoxes at 11 March and 14 September; scales of interconversion; two shadow squares; b) universal planisphere of Gemma Frisius; c) outer rim of mater; dorsum index system: horizontal regula, sliding cursor, three-piece brachiolus; alidade with sights; carrying case covered with green velvet: silver mounts engraved with Prince of Wales' feathers, initials and motto; two inscriptions.
