A woman's blouse, every day wear. This raglan-sleeved embroidered blouse is made from cream-coloured cheesecloth. Smocking draws in the fabric to make a rounded neckline, which is finished with blanket stitch, worked in red cotton thread. The sides of the blouse and the undersides of the sleeves are hemmed and joined with a functional (and decorative) openwork stitch (fagoting). The embroidered front panel comprises two identical floral motifs, worked in thick red cotton thread, bordering two narrower linear motifs. Identical patterning occurs on the sleeves. The back has embroidered on it three rows of four red crosses.
