Description
A woman's apron. Made from two pieces of brown basket woven wool fabric and lengths of commercially produced black trim. Wider than it is long, the two pieces of fabric are joined along one selvedge with a wide black crocheted band, and crocheted trim with a different pattern is sewn to all four sides. Two vertical panels with meandering foliage are worked towards each side: red, yellow, green (2 tones), blue and maroon wool yarns. These are worked on a tabby woven ground (a stripe, woven as a band within the basket weave). Fine pink, grey, brown, and green stripes towards each edge. Black twill woven, commercially made tape is sewn to the inside top of the apron. Three small loops, one in the middle, one at each end; no ties.
