Description
A woman's long, rectangular apron. Made from a single piece weft face tabby woven wool fabric; finely woven [8 e.p.c. / 18 e.p.i.]. Three different geometric patterns of different widths, tapestry woven in white, red, green (four tones), blue and black wool yarns, are separated by areas of solid blue/black weaving, broken by regularly spaced fine gold metal-wrapped thread. Cream cotton trimming with a scalloped edge (inner), a pink/red synthetic braid, both commercially produced, and a strip of black cotton velvet fabric (outer) have been sewn onto the front sides of the apron. The apron ties, stitched to the top corners, are made from cream and brown plaited wool yarn, some of which has come undone or is missing.
