Description
A long, rectangular woman's apron. The ground is made from red tabby woven wool cloth, covered almost entirely with cream-coloured embroidery. On either side of the centre line the decoration comprises two identical vertical lines of diamond patterning. The centre of each diamond (22 in total) is subdivided, using either white or yellow silks. Small spots of blue and pink synthetic wool yarn is added. The centre contains a vertical line of multicoloured squares: green, pink and blue synthetic wool, and white cotton and yellow silk. A horizontal band at the hem has a blue flower at the centre (synthetic wool) bordered by white and yellow flowers (both silk). Cream-coloured, commercially made trim (lace-like in appearance, double layered) is applied to the sides and hem. There is applied fringing to the hem and lower sides: pink, blue, green, brown and purple, worked in synthetic wools. The ties are missing.
