Description
Image depicting the object numbered 2010,2017.1 in the British Museum Collections. This photograph was taken by Dr Alice Christophe in DATE 11/2020 at the Museum’s external store. The photoshoot was realized using the digital camera Fujifilm X-T4, a lens Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR for wide-angle images, and a lens Fujifilm XF 60mm f2.4 R Macro for macro photography. Studio lights, and a grey paper backdrop were also used. This image was taken as part of the Benioff Oceania Programme, which is dedicated to the documentation, research and curation of the Hawaiian and Rapanui collections at the British Museum and is undertaken in close collaboration with community members [2020-2023]. The photographs taken within this programme were created with the intention to honour makers and artists of the past, and to respectfully generate visual resources to continue to inspire and empower community members and contemporary practitioners. The photographer intends for these images to remain widely accessible to them in perpetuity.
