Male figure ('fisherman's idol') made of blackened wood (ohia), pearl-shell and barkcloth. On top of head is a crescential crest; eyes inlaid with pearl shell and the toothless mouth is half opened. Round the waist is a strip of tapa. Feet rest upon a large peg cut from the solid.
