Description
Oak Cased Quarter-Chiming Miniature Longcase 'Grandmother' Clock.
Oak case with a forward sliding hood with applied moulded-edge side and top panels. The front hood panel is oak-veneered plywood, the rest of the case of solid oak. Hinged, chromium-plated square glazed bezel Case trunk with a cushion moulding beneath the hood on a bombé plinth supported by two chamfered side bars forming the feet. The inside and back of the case are stained black.
A square brass plate is overlaid by a similar silvered brass plate to which is screwed a silvered brass chapter ring with an outer circle fr minutes numbered 0-60 at five-monute intervals. Roman hours I-XII with crossed arrow-head half-hour marks. Winding holes at IIII, VI and VIII. To the right at III is a chime/silent lever. Pierced bl;ued-steel hour and minute hands.
