Description
Hans Sachs, "Nachred das grewlich laster" (Nuremberg, Wolfgang Resch) c. 1532; containing an emblematic woodcut by Georg Pencz printed on the titlepage, showing a blindfolded, winged woman in the foreground at right, holding a chalice, with a flaming ball attached with a rope to her right ankle. Behind her, beneath a tree at left, a seated man is approached by a figure wearing a tabard with the double-headed eagle, crowned with laurels and holding a staff in his right hand. Bound with five pages of letterpress verse.
