Invitation to the funeral of John Rich, from his house at Covent Garden to the Parish Church of Hillingdon, Middlesex, on 4 December 1761 at 8am; a mausoleum with plaque for inscription surrounded by dramatic design; at bottom a skeleton in hooded cloak grabs the drapery of a standing figure to the right, who reaches up towards Time, as a winged man with scythe and hourglass, flying up to the heavens; to the left the three Fates, or Moirai with the thread of life; a female figure in the clouds with spindle and trailing thread, through the distaff of the second figure, to the scissors or shears of the third; after Noël Nicolas Coypel's 'Allegory of Time'.
