Marble part of relief (Block XIV) from the West frieze of the Parthenon. The frieze shows the procession of the Panathenaic festival, the commemoration of the birthday of the goddess Athena.The fragment shows the head and chest of a man, wearing a chlamys. For more information on the West frieze see West frieze Block I. The fragment was presented to the British Museum by J.J. Dubois in 1840. The rest of the frieze block is in the Acropolis Museum, Athens.
