This Book was made up at the time the engravings shown in it were done.' Half-bound in brown leather and gilt; lettering on spine reads 'Wood-Engravings by the Brothers Dalziel. XXIX. Sunday Magazine. Good Words. Good Words for the Young. Wilfred Cumbermede. 1871-74.'. The album includes approximately 1317 wood-engraved proofs made for periodicals. While most of the wood engravings are made after drawn designs, there are also many after photographs. The album also includes some images that were apparently unused.Contents include:Nos. 1-108: illustrations after various artists for ‘The Sunday Magazine’, 1st March 1871 – 1st December 1871. Writings illustrated include: ‘Your Life and Mine’, ‘Tares and Wheat’, ‘The Story of the Mine’, ‘A Tea-Party in a Workhouse’, ‘Margaret’, ‘The Vicar’s Daughter’ and others.
