Beaker, hard-paste porcelain, of flared form and with moulded gadrooned foot, separately applied. The beaker is glazed and painted in puce near the rim with a design of double semicircles below a line and above a series of circles of gilt dots, and inside the rim with a geometric pattern of diagonal lines. The body is painted in puce with a male figure wearing a Chinese inspired costume turned to right wearing a brimmed hat with his left arm outretched so that his full sleeve hangs down, and in pale blue with a two-handled vase of flowers and with another male figure wearing a Chinese inspired costume in a skullcap and topknot. This figure faces left and holds out his right arm. In his right hand is a small object. The painted decoration is embellished with gilding and the foot and inside of the rim are gilt. Signed and dated.
