J,8.230: Ticket to the anniversary celebrations of the Humane Royal Society; the Earl of Stamford named as president, with list of Vice Presidents, Treasurer, and Stewards, and "The favor of your company is desired at the Parish Church of St Martins in the Fields on Sunday the 27th day of Feby to hear the Anniversary Sermon Preached by the Right Rev. Father in God Richard Lord Bishop of Llandaff - in favor of this institution - and on Monday the 28th to dine with the President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer & Governors at ye London Tavern". At top a vignette of a wind-swept tree on mount with leaves on single branch, with shield and motto "Homo sum; humani nihil a me alienum puto"; garlands down the sides, and at bottom a putto on roundel inscribed "Lateat Scintilluia Forsan", topped with crown, flanked by lion and rose, and unicorn adn thistle; a sinking ship in background. "Cook sculp". Stamped with seal.
