Seal-matrix: Louis de Lorraine as Abbot of Cluny; bronze; circular; high ridge at back with pierced projection; shield of arms, eight quarters, 1. barry of eight (Hungary), 2. semé-de-lys (within a label of five points in chief] (Naples or Anjou-Sicily), 3. a cross potent between four cross crosslets (Jerusalem), 4. four pales (aragon), 5. semé-de-lys within a bordure (Anjou), 6. a lion rampant contourné crowned (Guelders), 7. a lion rampant crowned (Juliers or Flanders), two bar fishes addorsed between four crosses crosslet fitchée (Bar). On an inescutcheon, on a bend three allerions in bend, in chief a label of three points (Lorraine). The whole on an archbishop's cross in pale, the upper part above the shield the end of the standard below; above, a cardinal's hat; carved border; with wax impression.
