Description
Pale brown chalcedony cylinder seal; triangular composition: a hero rests one foot on the back of a small reclining bull, holds a scimitar behind him in his lowered right hand and grasps a rearing lion by the forepaw. The hero's hair rises in short vertical lines from a hairband and falls on his shoulders in thicker wheel-cuts which are also used for his beard. He wears a belted wrap-over kilt, edged with a band of dot-in-square decoration, with the fringed edge hanging on the far side, between his legs. The bull (horned) looks back over its shoulder towards the hero, its ribs are indicated and it rests one front hoof on the lion's right hindpaw. The lion's paws are indicated by short strokes, and its mane and the fur under its belly by thinner and longer lines; the end of its tufted tail curls under the crescent, and behind it is an inscription. Chipped edges; fairly small perforation.
