Gold box or cigarette case; of rectangular form, the lid and sides enamelled in deep blue with a white border, an interlace motif in white in the centre of the lid and at each corner on the sides. The gold background engine-turned with fine parallel lines on front, back and sides. The four corners of the lid set with square-cut Brazilian topazes, a gold ropework border round the edge of the lid, running inside the topaz settings.The push-piece set with a large oval topaz. London hallmarks for 1967. Contained in the original rectangular deep red textured leather Cartier case with cut corners, and stamped and gilded tooling. The interior with cream silk lining to the lid and raised cream velvet base. Printed in gold inside the lid: CARTIER LONDON 175 NEW BOND ST PARIS 13 RUE DE LA PAIX NEW YORK 712 5TH AVENUE
