A short iron sword, with the tang and most of the blade bent in an arc, the lower part of the blade further distorted and the tip sharply bent. Some of the original surface still survives. Its complete length is about 475 mm; its tang is 118 mm (so its blade about 357 mm). The blade is 37 mm wide at the top, but narrows rapidly to about 32 mm, then it undergoes a very slight taper to about 200 mm from the top of the blade, before tapering more steeply to a long sharp point. There is a clear median ridge, perhaps even a midrib. The upper part of the tang is rectangular in section and the lower part is more oval; its top is burred. There are traces of a rounded or campanulate hilt end in the corrosion products.
