Description
Copper alloy torc. Each terminal in the form of a horse's head, with long rounded muzzle, a short groove for the mouth, long slit eyes, ears laid back. Over the head, in front of the ears, there is a cross-hatched band, and between the ears a hatched triangle represents the mane. On each side a collar flanked by cordons. The body is ridged in section, with five grooves, (cf. ML.1796); in part corroded and split. The torc has a slight mortice-and-tenon link, with a short projection from the nose of the better preserved horse-head and a corresponding cavity in the end of the other.
