Laterally curved silver-gilt sub-rectangular fragment from a decorative mount of uncertain function. The fragment has been cast, then finished off by hand and gilded overall on the decorative surface. Surviving portion is decorated with a square panel containing zoomorphic decoration of a long-legged feline creature, the body in profile and the head turned to the front. The fur on the body, neck and haunch is represented by finely ribbed herringbone engraving, and the tail developed into an elaborate chip-carved interlace which crosses over the body to enmesh the legs and feet. Framed by plain borders top and bottom, and upright borders with diagonal engraving.
