One half of a two-piece limestone mould for a flat-bladed socketed tool; regular rectangular block with carefully straightened sides (chisel marks visible); the underside is more roughly finished, with the surface pitted in places; one end of the mould by the socket has a dropped edge to allow the metal to be poured in; made of fairly soft, slightly chalky limestone.
