The Marsh Trust Awards

In November 2014, the British Museum and the Marsh Christian Trust presented their sixth annual ‘Volunteers in Museum Learning’ Award.

This exciting award recognises the hugely valuable contribution that volunteers make in helping museums engage with their visitors.

More than fifty museums and galleries entered this year and awards were presented to individuals and groups of volunteers from across the United Kingdom.

Each regional winner receives £500. The overall winner chosen from the regional winners also receives an additional £2000, which this year was split between the two joint national winners.

All winners receive a certificate. Prizes are presented at a ceremony at the British Museum.

Joint National Winner: The Herb Garden Volunteers from Bede’s World, Jarrow

Joint National Winner: The Family Learning Volunteers from the Museum of London Archaeological Archives
