Blandine joined the British Museum in March 2017 to take part in the ERC project named INDUCE (2016-2021) on the origin and use of early pottery vessels by hunter-gatherer populations in NE Europe and Russia. She mainly uses gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and gas chromatography isotope-ratio mass spectrometry (GC-IRMS) to investigate the source of food residues preserved in ancient pottery (terrestrial animal fats, aquatic resources, plants, etc.).

She obtained her PhD in analytical sciences at the University of Strasbourg (France) in 2016. Her PhD work involved the characterisation by GC-MS of organic residues preserved in archaeological soils and artefacts. The identification of lipid biomarkers (compounds which can be associated to specific natural products) allowed her to study and characterize protohistoric agricultural soils (millet cropping) as well as resins and tars (styrax and liquidambar resins, balsams, birch bark tar, conifer resins and tars, etc.) on various objects.
