Abbas Youssef

Born Bahrain, 1960

Youssif studied Arabic literature at the University of Qatar, Doha, graduating in 1982. He is a member of the Bahrain Arts Society. His work includes paintings, graphic arts and livres d’artiste.Youssif has had three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Public collections holding his works include the Museum of Modern Art, Barcelona, the National Museum, Damascus, and the Royal Fine Arts Society, Amman. Youssif won first prize in graphics at the second Calligraphy Biennial of the Islamic World,Tehran, Iran, 2002, and the Merit award at the first Painting Biennial of the Islamic World,Tehran, 2000.
