Iman Abdullah Mahmud
Born Baghdad, Iraq, 1956
Abdullah graduated in Graphic Arts from the
Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad, 1980, then
pursued her studies in painting at the
Academy of Fine Arts, Baghdad, 1980-4. In
1998 she moved to Munich, Germany, where
she has been living and working ever since. In
2001 she became a member of the German
Association of Artists (Bundesverband
Bildender KÜnstler - BBK). Her work has been
exhibited in a number of solo and group
exhibitions in Europe, the Middle-East and the
United States including the touring exhibition
'Strokes of Genius: Contemporary Iraqi Art'
which began in the United Kingdom, 2000.
