Haji Noor Deen Mi Guanjiang

Haji Noor Deen is a master of Arabic calligraphy who lectures on the subject at the Islamic College in Zheng Zhou, where he has also established a correspondence course to enable students from all areas of China to study Arabic calligraphy. In 1997, Haji Noor Deen was the first Chinese to be awarded the Egyptian Certificate of Arabic Calligraphy and to be admitted as a member of the Association of Egyptian Calligraphy. His work can be found in several museums around the world, including the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, and the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. Haji Noor Deen has been invited to lecture at universities in the United States and elsewhere. He also offers intensive workshops on Arabic calligraphy in the United States and the United Kingdom under the sponsorship of the Zaytuna Institute and the Bukhari Institute. For him, calligraphy is first and foremost an act of faith.
