The Hepworth Wakefield
The Hepworth Wakefield
Open from 21 May 2011
The Hepworth Wakefield is Yorkshire’s inspiring new art gallery, celebrating the area’s unique artistic legacy and exploring the work of major contemporary artists.
The 10 gallery spaces make this one of the UK’s largest purpose-built galleries outside London. The galleries contain displays of historic and modern art, alongside temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
The British Museum has loaned JMW Turner’s watercolour view of Wakefield as part of the gallery’s inaugural displays.
