The Thetford Treasure:
Romans Rediscovered

Gold buckle from the Thetford treasure, Gallows Hill, Thetford, Norfolk
A portion of the late Roman Thetford Treasure, one of East Anglia's most significant archaeological finds, is displayed for the first time in Thetford itself, following a major refurbishment of Ancient House.

The beautiful 83 piece collection, dated between AD38090, was found in superb condition in the Gallows Hill area of Thetford in 1979. The loan includes some of the most prized objects such as a gold buckle featuring a dancing satyr and the engraved silver spoons.
