What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

For an excellent introduction to runes, we recommend Martin Findell’s book published by British Museum Press.

I am a near contemporary of Alan's, having been acquired in December 1958.

My early years were action-packed and I regularly would engage in wrestling, boxing, abseiling and swimming. Unlike Alan I have never ridden pillion on a motor cycle, although I do have experience of backies on a racing bike.

All this action has taken its toll on my body which has numerous scars, although I do not feel that these detract from my still-youthful good looks. I have gained in confidence as I have got older and am not ashamed of my body; indeed, I subscribe to a naturist lifestyle whatever the weather and I recently did some life modelling.

I would like to prove that there is life after 50 and I am certain that I would perform the role of stunt double with great aplomb.
