The Artist’s Studio

Woodcut by Albrecht Dürer
This exhibition traces the development of the artist’s workspace in Britain from the 1700s to the present day.

Through paintings, drawings, architectural plans, artist materials, photography and film, the exhibition will consider how studios have been used and the roles that they have played. Artists such as Francis Bacon, Vanessa Bell, Degas, Lucian Freud, Gwen John, Rembrandt and Warhol will be represented.
