Roma. La Pittura di un Impero
An exhibition of paintings spanning the rise and
development of the Roman Empire.
The exhibition reveals the themes of Roman painting from
the first century BC to the fifth century AD. It spans
the advent of Julius Caesar to the extraordinary consolidation of
power in the period of colonial expansion, through great frescoes,
refined portraits on wood, decorations, friezes and views of great
vitality, recovered from both the patrician domus and the ordinary
home
or shop.
