For my 10th birthday, instead of taking my friends and me to Superman, my dad took us to see Merry Wives of Windsor at Stratford. I was so embarrassed. But I went on to see many more Shakespeare plays at Stratford, with him and with friends. We often got the £10 seats and so I seem to remember watching most of them from behind a pillar.
