What just happened?

To celebrate Vikings Live, we have replaced our Roman alphabet with the runic alphabet used by the Vikings, the Scandinavian ‘Younger Futhark’. The ‘Younger Futhark’ has only 16 letters, so we have used some of the runic letters more than once or combined two runes for one Roman letter.

During the extended run of Ice Age art: arrival of the modern mind, Exhibition Curator Jill Cook gives a 45 minute introduction to the exhibition, discussing the context, range and highlights of the show.

The talk also considers new perceptions which have emerged during the course of the exhibition.
