This is a live screening of an exclusive lecture for Members.
Timothy Clark, Head of the Japanese section at the British Museum, will introduce selected highlights from the forthcoming special exhibition Hokusai: beyond the Great Wave.
Focusing on the last 30 years of the long career of Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), the exhibition will include the iconic Great Wave from the print series Thirty-Six Views of Mt Fuji, alongside other prints, illustrated books and sublime painted works created right up to the artist’s death at the age of 90. Includes a complimentary drink.
Please note that this is a live relay of the lecture that will be taking place in the BP Lecture Theatre next door.
