An alien stranded on Earth initiates a plan to amass a fortune in order to fund a space programme that will help him return to his home planet. In his first major screen appearance, David Bowie impresses in a role that would seem tailor made. Mesmerisingly directed by Nicolas Roeg.

Part of a stellar weekend of great British films outdoors at the Museum, celebrating the thrilling and visionary power of science fiction. Presented by the BFI, this is a launch event for Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder, a nationwide season of sci-fi film and television, which takes place from October to December at BFI Southbank and venues across the UK.
