Mark Jobling, Professor of Genetics at the University of Leicester, delivers a thought-provoking lecture.

The strength of the influence of the Vikings on Britain is clear from historical records, archaeological finds, our language and our place names. But how many Vikings actually came to Britain, and what proportion of us today are their descendants?

Jobling discusses how we can use the science of genetics to address some questions.

This event will have live speech-to-text transcription to give deaf and hard of hearing visitors access to the talk.
